Case Study
YO! Sushi

The challenge
Making a changing location network easier to navigate
As YO! expanded into supermarket kiosks during COVID restrictions, customers needed to understand what each location offered. At Ridgeway, I explored those differences with restaurant managers and translated the findings into information architecture, responsive wireframes and prototypes. The work considered opening times, menus, allergens and host retailers, extending the existing design system with patterns for different location types.

The results
Bringing delivery and collection into the website
Alongside the kiosk work, we integrated YO!’s website with its own Click & Collect service and with Deliveroo and Just Eat, with Uber Eats following later. Much of YO!’s team was on furlough, so discovery ran remotely in Miro and Teams, and we updated personas and journeys using what the delivery and support teams were hearing from customers.
My part covered the information architecture, including new Book a Table, YO! to Go and YO! at Home routes, and high-fidelity wireframes for mobile and desktop. I also worked with the UI and technical teams on a content model linking restaurants, kiosks, delivery partners, recipes and menu items.
